In 2007, Soei Sensei opened ran Hotei a shop built in a traditional ‘kyomachiya’ that is over 100 years old. It was totally renovated with a design concept of ‘Taisho Roman meets Art Deco’.

In central Kyoto, guests are able to enjoy a “tea experience” using a special table-and-chair style seating called ‘ryurei’ in Japanese. It was developed over 150 years ago to host visiting dignitaries from overseas attending an International Trade Fair in Kyoto.

He also teaches the tea ceremony here both in person and by Zoom.
